Why we love authenticity

We entrepreneurs passionately work to solve the problem for our customers. That’s ultimately what drives us, that’s what keeps us awake at night.

But, frankly, that is, for the most part, a lie.

Actions speak louder than words — can you name one entrepreneur that has, unless they were contractually required to or financially motivated to, carried on solving the problem for their customers once they sold their equity in their business?

Probably not.

It’s like from the moment we entrepreneurs sign on the dotted line to sell our equity we’re no longer willing to devote an hour a week, to solving the problem for those customers, forget the 100+ hours we were devoting before.

The proof, as they say, is in the pudding.

Money isn’t the only thing that motivates entrepreneurs, absolutely not. But it’s FAR more a motivation than most of us are prepared to be honest about.

We live in a very fake world. I guess that’s why we love authenticity.
